Preparations under way for UAE Innovation Week with more than 500 initiatives and events in the pipeline

Dubai - MENA Herald: The second meeting of the Supreme Committee of UAE Innovation Week unveiled the ‘UAE Innovates’ logo of the major initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The meeting also decided to promote the logo extensively to raise the level of participation in the Innovation Week and enhance the image of the UAE as one of the most important centres of innovation in the region.

The Supreme Committee meeting was attended by His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; H.E. Abdullah Al Shaibani, Secretary General of the Executive Council of Dubai; H.E.  Saeed Saif Al Matrooshi, Secretary General of the Executive Council of Ajman; H.E. Nasser Saeed Al Tallai, Director of the Emiri Diwan of Umm Al Quwain; H.E. Dr. Khalid Al Midfa, Director-General of Sharjah Media Corporation; H.E. Ohood Al Roumi, Director-General of the Prime Minister’s Office; and H.E. Huda Al Hashemi, Executive Director of Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation; as well as local committee members of the UAE Innovation Week.

The Committee commended the efforts of the coordination team members of the UAE Innovation Week to organise events in all the emirates and cities of the UAE. It also lauded the cooperation between government entities, leading private sector companies, academic institutions and other organisations in the UAE in communicating with the local committees in charge of organising the activities of the UAE Innovation Week.

The meeting reviewed the preparations made by the local committees, and the current projects and initiatives aimed at organising the Innovation Week successfully. So far the committees have recorded more than 500 events, including advertisements, awards, initiatives, dialogues, presentations, laboratories of innovation, workshops, competitions, conferences and other events.

The Committee proposed distribution of the events across mornings and evenings on all days of the week to ensure the active participation from the largest segment of people. The Committee also called for the launch of the initiatives and public events in all the emirates and cities of the UAE, and stressed the importance of media support in highlighting innovation in the UAE.

The UAE Innovation Week will be held from November 22 to 28 to celebrate the innovations and innovators in the UAE, and encourage innovation culture as a defining element in the UAE society.

The UAE Innovation Week offers partners the opportunity to organise and manage their presentations and activities in coordination with the Supreme Committee and local committees. The activities include competitions and exhibitions all over the UAE, laboratories for innovation, workshops and interactive programmes, conferences, discussion panels, and many events and activities by public, private, research and academic organisations.
