Dubai - MENA Herald: Dubai Industrial City, the leading manufacturing and logistics hub in the GCC region and a member of TECOM Group, has bagged distinctions in two categories at the fDi Magazine’s awards for 2015.

Part of the UK-based Financial Times Group, the respected industry platform recognised Dubai Industrial City in the ‘Bespoke’ category for its leading infrastructure development, and in the ‘Regional’ category for emerging as the most promising destination for large tenants in the Middle East.

As part of the stringent evaluation process, a distinguished jury panel assessed 76 nominees on their growth for the fiscal year 2014-2015 – based on criteria such as upsurge in the number of tenants, increase in total surface area, and development of facilities. The evaluation combined a thorough data analysis of each entry, and selected the winners based on a system of due weightage.

Abdulla Belhoul, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Industrial City, said: “We are proud to be recognized by fDi magazine and the Financial Times Group for our commitment to our country and its vision, as well as our business partners and visitors. Our selection in two coveted categories distinguishes us from our industry peers and competition, while demonstrating our sustained commitment to ensuring the delivery of enabling incentives and best-in-class strategy for the greater benefit of our end-users.”

In early October, Dubai Industrial City announced a robust financial growth for 2015, reflecting 59% increase in gross profits and 28% growth in revenues compared to 2014. To date, a total of 680 business partners have chosen Dubai Industrial City as the ideal base for their growing businesses, due to its strategic location, value-added offerings and niche facilities. Among the newer entrants at the hub are Unilever, Max Steel, Emirates Printing Press and Gulf Eternit Industries.

Dubai Industrial City was established in 2004 to accelerate the growth and expansion of the UAE’s industrial sector. Spanning more than 55 square kilometres, Dubai Industrial City is located next to Al Maktoum International Airport and the Jebel Ali Port. The destination caters to industrial and logistics needs with specific emphasis on food and beverages, transport equipment and parts, machinery and mechanical equipment, logistics, chemicals, mineral products and base metals.
