Dubai - MENA Herald: Mubashar Maqbool joins as Country Manager in UAE for HBL, which is amongst the first foreign banks to open a branch in the UAE and has been in operation in the country since 1967. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Maqbool served as Head – Commercial Banking at HBL Pakistan.
Mr. Maqbool is a seasoned banker with extensive experience in Corporate and Commercial banking across the Middle East and Asia, and has been instrumental in turning the Commercial business into a successful and highly profitable one for the Bank, despite a challenging environment. Prior to joining HBL, Mr. Maqbool has held senior positions globally with institutions like Citibank and SAMBA.
Announcing the appointment, Mr. Abbas Hasan, Head – International Banking (EMEA), stated: “We are pleased that Mubashar has taken up this important role. He brings with him over 26 years of banking experience in the financial services industry, with rich experience in strategic planning, dynamic business growth, managing change and turnaround of units into optimally performing businesses. All of these attributes will be vital to HBL’s growth going forward.”
For the past 47 years, HBL has been providing banking products and services in the UAE via its branch network in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai, and Sharjah.
