Abu Dhabi – MENA Herald: Etisalat Group, the leading telecommunications operator in Middle East, Africa and Asia, yesterday received three prestigious awards at the 10th Annual CommsMEA Awards at Jumeirah Etihad Towers, Dubai.

Etisalat Group’s commitment to African markets was recognised by two awards. Firstly, as African Operator of the Year and, secondly, for the successful completion of the acquisition of Maroc Telecom, which won Telecom Deal of the Year. Etisalat Group’s investment has enabled the UAE to lead the world in Fibre-To-the-Home (FTTH) connections and made Abu Dhabi the first capital city in the world to be wholly covered by FTTH. Furthermore, Etisalat Group is conducting research and trials for the UAE to be the first nation to deploy the next generation of network, 5G.
