Dubai – MENA Herald: The French building finishing industry will once again be attending the Big 5 Show in Dubai on November 23-26, 2015, with nearly 50 companies representing various sectors of the industry. The French companies will be grouped together in a 552 m² French section organized by Business France, a government agency supporting the international development of the French economy. The Big 5 Show is a key event in the Middle East to meet the industry’s decision-makers and professionals.
Total construction sector projects awarded in 2014 amounted to USD 30 billion, up 10% from 2013. The strong population growth (up 8% in 2014) and the World Expo expected to be held in Dubai in 2020 will require an additional 40,000 hotel rooms likely resulting in greater opportunities and allowing for French companies to position themselves with the purchasing advisors, namely the consultants, architects and interior designers.
With a highly fragmented network of over 380,000 companies and €124 billion in turnover, the French building sector is extremely diverse ranging from structural (cement, concrete, exterior), building (roofing, insulation, bathroom facilities, heating and air conditioning, etc.), interior finishing and decoration (wall and floor finishing, paneling, luxury fixtures, home automation, etc.).
France benefits from a reputation for reliability and quality, which are especially important in the building sector due to safety risks. French companies are recognized for their substantial expertise in sectors where technical skills are required and innovation, quality and design play a major role. In addition, French companies serve as a benchmark in terms of standards and regulations.
For several years, French companies have been striving to increase their presence in the Middle East by positioning for major projects or by offering the market products with constantly evolving technology. The French offer stands apart thanks to its diversity and its innovative products and materials in the intelligent building, home automation, sustainable and ecological building, energy efficiency and wood construction sectors.

Stands to watch:
1-      Presto: For the past 3 generations, PRESTO, the family-owned French Group has been manufacturing and selling tapware for all types of public buildings. From November 23rd to 26th 2015, PRESTO will be exhibiting its tapware solutions for public places and healthcare facilities at the BIG5 Dubai tradeshow.
PRESTO will be exhibiting SO’O® wash basin mixer tap from its electronic tap range. Just by merely detecting the user’s hand, it delivers the adequate amount of water to ensure perfect hygiene without having to touch the tap. It features an anti-overflow safety system that is triggered if the cell is obstructed as well as an anti-scalding safety system that limits the mixed water temperature to the required value.
Presto® 1000XL DVA, a dual volume direct flush valve which allows a water saving of up to 90% compared to a conventional flush, thanks to its two independent adjustable water volumes. Its clean-cut, contemporary design is not only hygienic and practical, but also safe and efficient: water is always available and the two flow rates (high and low) are constant regardless of water pressure variations (between 1 and 4 bar).
Its anti water-hammering device shuts off the flush by gradually reducing the water flow, thus preserving the installations and guaranteeing their longevity. Its anti-siphon mechanism protects the drinking water system against possible back-flow of polluted water. It comes pre-assembled, which not only significantly reduces the installation time, but also provides the assurance that it is correctly placed. Disassembly for servicing and maintenance has been designed to give maximum accessibility.
A pioneer in the history of French tapware, PRESTO has always pursued a dynamic R&D policy aimed at better controlling water and energy consumption. Today still, it continues to receive prizes for innovation, its products offer concrete solutions that comply with the health and safety standards.
PRESTO operates in over 80 countries worldwide. In 2014, the Group opened a new subsidiary (PRESTO MIDDLE EAST) in Dubai and recently opened it subsidiary PRESTO NORTH AFRICA in Tunisia.
Being an exhibitor at BIG 5 will offer PRESTO the opportunity to meet with its prospective customers in the region and promote its product offerings.
2-      Bacacier: Bacacier, a major actor in metallic cladding for buildings in France for 20 years, is the first manufacturer to propose a major alternative for the traditional metallic cladding in industrial and commercial areas with no aesthetic and technical  innovation. Bacacier By Starck, designed by Philippe Starck, one of the greatest designers in the world, is exhibiting at the Big 5 Show in Dubai (Stand 1C35).
In fact, for 50 years, buildings in the industrial and commercial areas are built with a magma of metal sheets having the same shapes. Everything looks  the same. The loss of identity in city suburbs is too obvious. For an architect, creating a unique building using the available products on the market of metallic cladding becomes an aesthetic and economic challenge. Bacacier has faced this challenge creating a new solution with Phillipe Starck, a game where all pieces can be connected to each others allowing the ultimate customization of the building.
