Abu Dhabi - MENA Herald: Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) has attracted huge interest from major companies specialised in training, simulation and  unmanned systems worldwide during its participation at I/ITSEC (Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference) that concluded recently in Orlando, Florida, USA.

ADNEC’s participation in the event aimed to promote the second Unmanned System Exhibition (UMEX 2016) and the pilot edition of the Simulation Conference and Exhibition – set to run from 6 to 8 March 2016 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

Organised by the National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA) in the USA, I/ITSEC is  the world's largest modeling, simulation, and training conference. At I/ITSEC, ADNEC officials met with exhibitors and delegates from the fields of modeling and simulation, training, education, analysis, and related disciplines. They outlined the advantages offered by UMEX 2016 and Simulation Conference and Exhibition to showcase the latest innovations in simulation and training.

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Acting Group CEO at ADNEC Said: “Our participation in I/ITSEC was primarily to connect with delegations, military and civilian authorities and major industry players and invite them to the upcoming UMEX Abu Dhabi and Simulation Conference and Exhibition. Both events create a perfect platform for companies seeking to leverage the growing demand for defense and military training equipment in the Middle East and explore potential business opportunities.”

Al Dhaheri added: “Building on the success of the pilot edition Unmanned Systems Exhibition and Conference, UMEX 2016 and Simulation Conference and Exhibition will be bigger and better in terms of technologies showcased, size of attendees, and scope of potential business activities.”

Organised by ADNEC, UMEX is the only exhibition of its kind in the region dedicated to unmanned systems and technologies used in air, land and marine operations. The 2016 cycle is expected to draw the participation of nearly 100 local and global defence system manufacturers, specialised in unmanned systems and technologies.

The first Simulation Exhibition and Conference, held under the umbrella of UMEX 2016, will showcase the latest military simulation training requirements across the GCC countries and wider Middle East region in collaboration with the armed services, industry, academia and various government agencies seeking to improve training and education programmes.

UMEX 2016 and Simulation Conference and Exhibition are set to convene at a time when the demand for training equipment and delivery systems is steadily increasing in the Middle East region.

ADNEC offers 133,000 sq m of inter-connected floor space to match the expectations of a wide variety of events and exhibitions. Equipped with modern facilities and built to international standards, the venue attracted 1.6 million people across 327 events in 2014.
