Dubai Chamber staff donate blood for My Blood for My Country initiative

Dubai – MENA Herald: As part of its support to the My Blood for My Country, annual blood donation initiative launched by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, to save the lives of patients and accident victims, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in association with Ministry of Health, Sharjah Blood Transfusion & Research Centre, organised a successful blood donation drive recently.

This annual event achieved a new record as the Centre’s bus parked outside the Chamber head office attracted over 75 people out of which 38 were successful donors raising 18 litres of blood which exceeded the daily target of the bus which is 35 donors.

Besides Dubai Chamber staff members and customers others from the surrounding community including Emirates NBD, Dubai Economic Council, Dubai Land Department, Dubai University staff and the general public also participated in the blood donation drive.

H.E. Hamad Buamim, President and CEO, Dubai Chamber, said: “We organise blood drives at Dubai Chamber at least once a year because it is an easy and healthy act that saves lives and gives back to those in need. I encourage everyone to take a few minutes out of their year to make this contribution to our great nation and its citizens.”
