Dubai - MENA Herald: Amateur filmmakers across Dubai can now put their talents to test and submit a one minute film that captures ‘Inspiring Encounters’ at THE BEACH as part of a new competition for film makers launched by the urban waterfront destination.
Towards the initiative, THE BEACH in collaboration with popular Emirati YouTube sensation Taim Al Falasi will host a workshop at Reel Cinemas at THE BEACH on 6 February, 2016. The workshop will seek to equip amateur filmmakers with the right tools to create impactful films. Open to the public, 110 lucky guests can participate in the interactive session from 10am to 2pm that will include a networking lunch from 1pm to 2pm. Registrations to the workshop are now open until 4 February 2016. Interested participants may register to the workshop by email, addressed to inspiringencounters@thebeach.ae.
Following the workshop, aspiring Spielbergs and Hitchcocks of Dubai will gain a month’s time to submit their films for the competition. Entries need to be uploaded on http://www.thebeach.ae/competitions by 6 March, 2016.
Judged by Shweta Dembla, the brain behind popular v-log Dubai in a Frame, the winners will be announced on Monday, 14 March. The best film winner will walk away with a four-night trip to New York City including flights and hotel stay, as well as two tickets to the acclaimed Tribeca Film Festival. Other prizes include handy quick film equipment such as iPhones and Go Pros.
