AEEDC Dubai Celebrates its 20th Anniversary this February

Dubai – MENA Herald: Under the patronage of his Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of the Dubai Health Authority, the UAE International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition (AEEDC Dubai 2016) kicks off Tuesday 2nd of February, 2016 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. This edition marks 20 years of success for AEEDC, which has become the largest dental conference & exhibition in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia and the second largest in the world attracting a huge number of participants, regional and international officials, professionals and business delegations over the period of 19 years since its inception.
In this context, Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Executive Chairman of AEEDC Dubai and the Global Scientific Dental Alliance said: “In 1997, we had a vision of establishing the first leading international oral health platform to serve the community and the dental profession in the region. We started with 35 exhibitors showcasing on a space of 350 square meters and we received 200 visitors and participants to the event back then. Year after year, AEEDC Dubai has continuously shown outstanding growth and quality in its delivery of education and showcasing technology, and now we are proud to announce that AEEDC Dubai is the premier annual choice for much of the global oral health professionals.”
Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani continued on saying: “As we are now gearing up for AEEDC Dubai 20th anniversary, allow me to share with you the following initial statistics: AEEDC Dubai 2016 will occupy more than 10 halls which is around 62,000 sqm of space, showcasing more than 1,800 international companies and we are expecting more than 40,000 visitors, participants and dentists.”
About the greatest achievements for AEEDC over the past 19 years, Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani said: “The vision turned out into a very successful reality as AEEDC Dubai has become the leading focal point for the leaders and stakeholders of this wonderful profession. Our greatest achievement is having AEEDC Dubai ranked number one in the MENASA region and ranked 2nd worldwide. Another main achievement is supporting continuous education, AEEDC Dubai now is a renowned educational platform and a good source for credit hours for specialists and dentists, where international and regional associations and organisations grant a number of credit hours to all attending participants and students.”
From his side, Dr. Nasser Al Malik, AEEDC Scientific Chairman said: “The continuous success of AEEDC Dubai as a dental exhibition and a leading educational platform has shaped the whole business model in the region. It helped diversify both the dental education and trade fronts. I believe AEEDC’s greatest achievement is the enhancements it has made to the continuing dental education in the region reaching a level that rivals the established international standard events in the world.”
Dr. Nasser Al Malik continued on saying: “AEEDC brings together prominent speakers, thought leaders, and dental professionals. From his side, Dr. Mohammed Abedin, AEEDC Scientific Vice Chairman said: “Over the last 19 years, AEEDC Dubai has positively impacted OroFacial Health in the MENA region. It has helped in expanding and updating the dental equipment used and technology applied in this wide field of dentistry, which in turn is for the benefit of the patient.”

Dr. Mohammed Abedin added: “Without doubt, AEEDC has helped in lifting the level of dental care provided in the MENA region. Today, the technologies used and experts operating in this region rivals those in other far more advanced countries. AEEDC has enabled the “transfer of knowledge” in the dental field; it has made it easier through bringing together eminent academia and experts in the field, in addition to a variety of specialized sessions and workshops.”
AEEDC’s agenda for this year features various scientific activities like the GCC Preventive Dentistry Conference, AEEDC Advanced Specialty Courses, Poster and Oral Poster Presentations, the 7th AEEDC Student Competition with the participation of 6 universities, the Global Scientific Dental Alliance Meeting, and the AEEDC Dubai Awards.
AEEDC Dubai 2016 is also bringing up new activities that will be of great benefit to local and international participating dentists and professionals such as Dental Education Session under the theme “Dental School Obligation vs. Motivation”, French language session (Stomatologie Aujourd'hui Session), Alliance for Cavity-Free Future Annual Global Symposium, and various International Scientific Associations and Societies Collaborations.
On the sidelines of the conference and exhibition, AEEDC Dubai Night is to be held to mark the 20th anniversary of AEEDC Dubai with over 1,500 expected attendees, on Wednesday, 3rd of February, 2016, at 8:00 PM at the Le Meridian Hotel. AEEDC Dubai Night will be held in conjunction with the honoring ceremony for the AEEDC Dubai Personality of the Year Award 2016.
The UAE International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition (AEEDC Dubai 2016) will continue until 4th of February and is organized by INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions a member of INDEX Holding. It is worth mentioning that Dubai Health Authority, INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions Organisation Est. that is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider, and Arab Academy for Continuing Dental Education accredit AEEDC Dubai Conference.
