Thursday 28 January 2016

Kuwait - MENA Herald: Residents of Kuwait can now apply for visas to Hungary at a new Visa Application Centre for the Embassy of Hungary in the city. Applicants can visit the VFS Global centre to submit visa applications and enrol for biometrics in a centrally-located and comfortable environment.

Kuwait is the second country in the Middle East, after the United Arab Emirates, from where applicants can apply for a visa to Hungary. Similar centres in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain are expected to be launched in the coming months.

The centre is located at 1st floor, Albanwan Building, Ali Al-Salem Street, Al-Qiblah Area (opposite Kuwait Central Bank), Kuwait City. Services at this location commenced from 25 January 2016.

The Kuwait City centre caters to the growing needs of outbound travellers from the country. With Hungary emerging as a popular destination, travellers will find the centre easily accessible and convenient.

VFS Global has been operating visa processing services in Kuwait since 2005, and today serves 11 client governments in the country. The company has been serving the Government of Hungary since 2010, and serves the client in 6 countries from 29 visa application centres globally.

Speaking about the launch, HE Mr László Szabó, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, said, “Hungary has always had a special relationship with Kuwait. It was the first Gulf country which established diplomatic ties with Hungary and helped us to sell Hungarian products to other countries of this region. Our cooperation is distinguished with deep mutual understanding; excellent cooperation in both political and economic fields as well as with excellent people-to-people relations. We are determined to do our best to open the gates wider for people living in Kuwait to visit Hungary. The opening of the visa center is a very important step in this regard. I am confident that the visa center will help us achieve our goal to make the visa procedure fast and smooth, and will significantly contribute to the development of the cooperation between Hungary and Kuwait in the field of tourism.”

Also present at the launch, HE Mr Mihály Bayer, Ambassador of Hungary to the State of Kuwait, said, “We are proud of the fast growing number of foreign citizens visiting our country every year and deeply believe that the excellent travel and leisure offers of our tour operators, hotels, restaurants and the wide choice of attractions will encourage more and more Kuwaitis to visit Hungary. I can assure you that Hungary does not only wholeheartedly welcome the Kuwaiti visitors but also offers them a very safe, secure and stable environment. We are pleased by the very positive reports of Kuwaiti citizens who visited Hungary recently and I hope they will encourage their relatives and friends to come to us soon. Our Embassy will do its utmost to offer excellent visa services to the applicants and I am confident that our partnership with VFS Global will become an added value and a great success. I wish the old and the new Kuwaiti visitors of Hungary a very nice trip.”
