Dubai - MENA Herald: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of the Dubai Health Authority, His Excellency Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the board of the Dubai Health Authority inaugurated today the 20th edition of the UAE International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition (AEEDC Dubai), which is held under the theme “Education & Innovation Transfer”, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. This year, AEEDC Dubai 2016 celebrates its 20th anniversary with the participation of regional and international officials, a number of delegations from 130 countries, top-notch speakers and more than 1800 exhibiting companies.
Following the opening ceremony, His Excellency Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qatami toured the exhibition area, where he was introduced to the cutting-edge technologies and latest dental and medical devices showcased by local and international leading companies in the dental field. His Excellency was delighted by hearing from the exhibitors about the latest technologies and accomplishments that the manufacturing companies had reached in the field of dentistry.
Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Executive Chairman of AEEDC Dubai Conference and Exhibition and the Global Scientific Dental Alliance stated: “This is a very special edition for AEEDC Dubai conference and exhibition as we are celebrating its 20th anniversary and 20 years of achievement and global recognition. We are also proud that AEEDC Dubai retains its number one position among the MENASA region and remains to be the 2nd largest dental conference and exhibition in the world. AEEDC Dubai 2016 occupies more than 10 halls with the participation of 1,800 international companies and 40,000 expected Visitors & Participants and the scientific program is rich with new and innovative courses and sessions”.

Dr. Abdul Salam went on saying: “This year AEEDC Dubai features two new specialized conferences to enrich the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontic fields. The scientific agenda for this year is tailored with excellence, a number of outstanding scientific activities will take place during the three day event which makes AEEDC Dubai the best educational platform and a good source of attaining credit hours for specialists and dentists.”
From his side, Dr. Tariq Khoory, Honorary Chairman of AEEDC Dubai said: “AEEDC Dubai’s beginning may have been modest, but its vision was beyond ambitious. We started with a dream team who enjoyed working together against non-stop challenges. From the beginning, we aimed high to reach the top of the pyramid. The years passed and now everyone can see how far is AEEDC today.”
Dr. Tariq Khoory continued: “After 20 years of hard work, AEEDC became the second largest dental meeting worldwide, and here we are discussing the last challenge; to be the first, best, largest and one-of-a-kind dental event in the world.”
From his side, Dr. Nasser Al Malik, Scientific Chairman of AEEDC Dubai, commented on the 20th edition saying: “AEEDC’s agenda this year brings up new activities that will be of great benefit to local and international participating dentists and professionals. These activities include a Dental Education Session under the theme “Dental School Obligation vs. Motivation”, a French language session (Stomatologie Aujourd'hui Session), an Alliance for Cavity-Free Future Annual Global Symposium, and various International Scientific Associations and Societies Collaborations.”
The conference at AEEDC forms an ultimate platform for top-notch speakers and dental professionals to share their expertise and knowledge in their specialized fields of dentistry and gain CME points. The conference program spans over 170 lectures delivered by 150 speakers. The lectures and scientific sessions will cover topics like Endodontics, Infection Control, Laser in Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Implantology, Oral Pathology, Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry and Restorative Dentistry and many other.
