2000 Trade Visitors in the Conclusion of GPPS 2016

Abu Dhabi - MENA Herald: The Gulf Packaging and Polymers Conference and Exhibition concluded its 1st edition today with a remarkable success that witnessed the participation of over 2000 visitors and attendees that came to participate at the highly specialized event, which focuses on topics related to the technology of packaging and polymers as well as challenges facing this sector in terms of sustainability, recycling and waste management.
More than 50 companies from 15 countries exhibited this year with remarkable participation from the UAE, China, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Egypt, Germany, India, Belgium, United Kingdom, Turkey, the Netherlands.
The two-day conference featured more than 30 renowned industry speakers from across the region and key international markets, and covered the full spectrum of current industry hot topics from the latest developments in convenience packaging to smart labels and advancement in tracking technology.
Commercial Side
On his participation as an Exhibitor, Martin Leibrandt, CEO of European Pallet Association (EPAL), commented:” We are very pleased with our participation at the 1st edition of Gulf Packaging and Polymers Show. It was the ideal platform for us to introduce our services to the GCC.”
Ezzeldin El Massry, Director of PAXXAL and head of its investment division, said:” PAXXAL is a Saudi-American joint-venture that aims to improve the technology and production of packaging and pallets from modern material. It is also worth mentioning that our chairman Mr. Omar Tariq Al Shawaf is keen on strengthening the relationship between KSA and the UAE with focus on the industrial and commercial sectors. We were able to establish great business connections and potential leads that we expect will yield a profitable investment.”
During the 3-day exhibition, exhibitors were busy showing their products to visitors, and many of them reportedly achieved their targets and goals from participating in the show. Stuart Ball, Director of Marketing, Packaging and Specialties EMEA & Asia, stated that he was very pleased with his company’s participation and confirmed that he will be exhibiting again next year.

Technical Side
In packaging industry in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region that has been forecast to grow to $52.4 billion by 2019, from the current $41 billion, the conference featured more than 30 renowned industry speakers from across the region and key international markets, that covered the full spectrum of current industry hot topics from the latest developments in convenience packaging to smart labels and advancement in tracking technology.
