Dubai Chamber supports World Government Summit

Dubai - MENA Herald: The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the support sponsor of the 4th World Government Summit being held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai from February 8 to 10 at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai. On her part, Ohood Al Roumi, Director General of the Prime Minister’s Office, and Deputy Chairperson of the Organising Committee of the Government Summit, welcomed Dubai Chamber’s participation in the current Summit stating that the Chamber represents the strong public-private sector partnership and is firmly behind promoting the UAE and Dubai in particular as a global centre for trade and finance. With its focus on the utilisation of innovation and technology to help governments and communities to confront the global challenges and the impact of innovation, applied science and technologies on the future of governments’ work in education, healthcare, economy and sustainability, the Summit is bringing together local, regional and global innovation leaders and people with successful experiences especially from the World Bank and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the World Economic Forum to share and promote best practices, she added. H.E. Hamad Buamim, President and CEO, Dubai Chamber stated that the organisation of this strategic summit reflects on the UAE Government’s efforts to introduce innovation in various aspects of economic and social life and is part of its action to harness innovation and technology amongst its people and traders, adding that this support is part of the public private sector partnership as Dubai Chamber represents the private sector in the emirate. He further stressed that since its inception the Summit has become a knowledge exchange platform at the intersection between government, futurism, technology and innovation. It functions as a thought leadership platform and networking hub for policymakers, experts and pioneers in human development. Dubai Chamber will benefit from the Summit by meeting global Government officials and will also get the opportunity to establish a strong network with them which will ultimately help the Chamber to identify best global business practices and to serve the business community with the latest smart services offered by the leading Governments in the world, he said.
