Dubai - MENA Herald: Today RoadSafetyUAE and QIC Insured (Qatar Insurance Company) announced their strategic partnership for UAE, a partnership aiming at jointly increasing road safety and safe driver awareness in the Emirates.

“Being the largest insurer in the region, we see it as an obligation to actively promote road safety, not only in the Emirates, but in the entire region”, explains K.G. Venkat, CEO of QIC UAE and continues “as an insurance company with close to a million individual customers, we have the ability to leave a significant footprint on the road safety efforts, and partnering with RoadSafetyUAE is an important step in doing so for UAE”.

There are at least three obvious reasons to safer roads; first is the reduced fatality and injuries caused, then there’s the reduced traffic congestion as one of the major reasons for traffic jams are accidents – and for an insurance company, safer roads means fewer claims which in turn could turn out to lower motor insurance premiums.

Frederik Bisbjerg, Executive Vice President, MENA Retail, elaborates “We’re currently piloting Pay-How-You-Drive car insurances in Qatar and we see this partnership as an important step to understand how we can do the same in Dubai and the Emirates”.

One specific initiative the partners already have begun is the ‘UAE Road Safety monitor’, a research project monitoring the road traffic participants’ perception with regards to the biggest sources of accidents and fatalities on UAE’s roads. The initial results will be made public in the coming weeks. QIC insured also supports RoadSafetyUAE in providing tips & tricks with regards to the proper insurance cover motorists have to have in the UAE on http://www.roadsafetyuae.com/the-right-insurance/

“It is a privilege to partner with Qatar Insurance, the largest insurance company in the MENA region and to tap into their knowledge pool and thought leadership in order to come up with a series of initiatives aimed at improving road safety in the UAE and the broader region”, Thomas Edelmann, Founder and Managing Director of RoadSafetyUAE states.
