Muscat - MENA Herald: Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation, showcased its comprehensive datacenter infrastructure portfolio in Muscat, Oman as part of its GCC-wide roadshow.
Best practices in integrating Schneider Electric’s solutions to maximize business efficiency and value were also shared at the event that drew the attendance of over 90 C-suite executives and channel partners from the IT industry in Oman.
Schenider Electric’s roadshow in Oman is being hosted at a time when the nation’s IT sector is projected to grow at a CAGR of 8.31 percent over the period 2014 - 2019, according to a Research and Markets study released in 2015. The growth is attributed to Oman’s digital strategy initiative that aims to make the country a more connected and convenient hub for citizens through the enhancement of e-services.
Addressing the attendees, Ziad Youssef, Vice President IT Busines – UAE and Gulf Countries at Schneider Electric, said: “As market leaders, we are committed to providing regular updates on the rapidly growing data center infrastructure market to our new and potential partners across the GCC region. As part of this roadshow, our earlier outing in Qatar and Kuwait proved equally successful.
“Today’s digitally-driven enterprises require tools to integrate and manage their IT ecosystem to power business operations, store mission-critical data in a secure enviromment, and remain competitive. The Gulf countries – including Oman - are investing heavily in such technology across the construction, oil and gas, and banking sectors. As a key component of strategic diversification, such investments reflect the commitment of regional governments to shape smart and, therefore, more efficient businesses.”
Youssef added: “The data center is at the core of today’s business IT structures, and managing its hardware and software assets is a challenging task. Using Schneider Electric’s globally recognized Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) suite, this challenge is made that much simpler. Our comprehensive offering provides maximum efficiency throughout the data center lifecycle and empowers CIOs with real-time information and analytics to manage data in a sustainable way.
StruxureWare™ for Datacenters enables businesses to manage their IT systems across multiple domains. The company’s integrated suite of DCIM applications include UPS systems, rack and cooling solutions, cabling and connectivity products, as well as KVM, PDU and Console Servers and network management software. All of these offer actionable intelligence for an ideal balance of high availability and peak efficiency throughout the data center life cycle. In 2015, Gartner Inc. recognized Schneider Electric as a leader in the Magic Quadrant for DCIM tools for its StruxureWare™ for Datacenters suite, for the second consecutive year.
Schneider Electric’s DCIM suite, which helps corporations to save around 30 percent on CapEx and OpEx and aims to provide a balanced approach to optimizing power and energy, is an example of the company’s commitment to providing connectivity, sustainability, efficiency, and reliability and safety. These attributes constitute the four pillars of Schneider Electric’s recently unveiled brand strategy ‘Life is ON’.
