Dubai – MENA Herald: Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in association with The Jorgensen Law Firm PLLC and Hoda Barakat Legal Consultancy
organised Drafting and Negotiating Successful Franchise Agreements workshop in the presence of a number of Chamber members, lawyers and legal professionals, investors and owners of franchise businesses at its head office recently.
Franchising is a popular concept in the emirate benefitting both the brand-owner franchisors and local investor franchisees as this relationship significantly lowers costs and risks while providing jobs for young people. This agreement also helps franchisors to expand their brands while enabling the franchisees in the country to benefit from a well-known brand besides bringing in great rewards for their companies.
Ms. Jehad Kazim, Director, Legal Services Department, Dubai Chamber, stated that drafting a successful franchise agreement is immensely important as this guarantees the rights of both the franchisee and the franchisor and leads to a long-term and sustainable business relationship based on clarity and transparency.
She pointed out that the workshops organised by Dubai Chamber are becoming increasingly important with the participants, especially those wanting to enter the franchising business as these workshops not only raise awareness of the concept but also help them to safeguard their rights and duties while benefiting from the contracts that provide safety and protection to their investments.
Hoda Barakat, Attorney, Hoda Barakat Legal Consultancy, in her introductory presentation on the concept and importance of franchise business also dealt with the legal risks associated with it while highlighting the role of Dubai Chamber in helping its members with the latest developments in the laws that regulate the business environment.
