Dubai - MENA Herald: Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA), the government authority charged with regulating, coordinating and supervising all aspects of Dubai's maritime sector, has revealed that it has completed all of its preparations for the issuance of official permits for visiting yachts participating in this year’s edition of the Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS), the Middle East and North African region's (MENA) number one marine luxury, leisure and lifestyle industry event, which will be held from March 1 to March 5, 2016 at the Dubai International Marine Club, Mina Seyahi. The move falls in line with the Authority's continuing efforts to offer a comprehensive portfolio of maritime licensing services at the exciting five-day show. This year's edition of DIBS is expected to see the participation of more than 800 exhibitor companies and leading brands from 51 countries.

According to DMCA, the issuance of these official permits is part of their portfolio of maritime licensing services, which will be made available to exhibitors and visitors at the Authority's pavilion. The DMCA hosted pavilion presents a unified and integrated platform that provides all the requirements needed for administering the examinations to obtain marine driving licenses, which also includes the provision of key assistance for the faster completion of all procedures for the licensing of any kind of marine craft. The DMCA also pointed out that the validity of these permits is for three months and holders have the right to sail and anchor within the territorial waters of Dubai. All issued permits can be renewed after its expiration.

Adel Kalanter, Director for Registration and Licensing, DMCA, explained that the Authority's move to issue official permits for participating yachts represents a continuation of the positive results that have been achieved in terms of facilitating maritime licensing services during the previous editions of the show. He further noted that the DMCA remains fully committed in promoting and coordinating with the strategic partners of the concerned authorities in Dubai in order to ensure that the owners of visiting marine crafts get their permits quickly, easily and efficiently.

Kalanter shared that the DMCA is keen to render its full support to help make the 24th edition of DIBS a complete success--reinforcing the emirate's position as a leader in the world of boats and luxury yachts events.

“This year’s edition of the show is expected to witness wide regional and international participation, which makes it imperative to intensify efforts in providing services that can meet the demands and needs of the leisure marine pioneers and water sports enthusiasts who will be participating at the show,” Kalanter said.

Hamed Hassan, Senior Manager for Registration and Licensing, DMCA, said, “The decision of issuing official permits for foreign yachts comes in line with our efforts aimed at facilitating maritime licensing procedures, which is a fundamental pillar to ensure that maritime operations management is in accordance with the highest professional safety standards, best environmental practices and local and international resolutions. This helps in achieving the goals of improving the performance, safety, efficiency and competitiveness of the maritime sector in Dubai. We provide all facilities and services that enhance the leadership of DIBS, which in turn will help consolidate Dubai’s position as a key player and influential power on the global marine map.”

DMCA’s pavilion will display a wide range of innovative services and applications, including its range of smart services that have been developed to enhance customer experience and support Dubai Maritime Sector Strategy, an essential pillar of an ongoing initiative aimed at increasing the confidence of regional and international investors and improving the local maritime sector’s key components. During the show, an authorized and specialized team from DMCA will be on hand to assist participants for their marine licensing needs.
