Dubai - MENA Herald: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of the Dubai Health Authority, His Excellency Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board of the Dubai Health Authority, inaugurated today the 9th edition of the Dubai Anaesthesia Conference and Exhibition, held at Mohammed Bin Rashid Academic Medical Centre in Dubai Healthcare City. The event this year attracts 60 participating companies and over 40 speakers from 55 countries, and it is expected to attract more than 2400 visitors and participants during its 3 days.
Following the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony, H.E. Humaid Al Qatami and dignitaries toured the exhibition area, and explored the recent technologies and innovative equipment displayed by leading specialized companies.
On the sidelines of the opening ceremony, Dr. Mansour Nadhari, the Conference Chairman and the Consultant & Head of Anaesthesia Department at Rashid Hospital – Trauma Centre, said: “Dubai Anaesthesia Conference & Exhibition has become one of the leading medical events specialized in anesthesia and perioperative medicine. It is an important opportunity for physicians, clinicians and educators to discover new technologies and techniques for professional development, to enable them to respond to patients’ demands for specialty care, to fulfill their healthcare needs, and to facilitate education in these fields. In addition to that, the conference offers 18 credit hours accredited by Dubai Health Authority. ”

About the scientific program for this year, Prof. Dr. Alberto Pasqualucci, Head of Scientific Committee said: “In this edition of Dubai Anaesthesia conference and exhibition, we will discuss various topics of anesthesia and pain therapy, especially those concerning the anesthesiological and ventilatory treatment in obese patients undergoing surgery "bariatric" (a type of surgery that reduces the absorption of food and therefore facilitates weight loss). We will also discuss the latest researches for the treatment of acute, chronic and oncological pain, and anesthesia in pediatrics, gynecology, and trauma.”
