Dubai - MENA Herald: Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman, Al Habtoor Group held discussions with His Excellency Osama Naffa, the new Hungarian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates on Thursday March 3, 2016.
It marked the first meeting between the Al Habtoor Group Chairman and Naffa.
HE Naffa informed the Chairman that the Hungarian government would like to honour him with a medal at a National Day event in August in the capital Budapest. Al Habtoor is the largest UAE investor in Hungary, ahead of Emirates airline and HE Majid Ghurair.
“I would be honoured to accept the acknowledgment from the Hungarian government,” he said. “Hungary is a beautiful country with so much to offer, and incredibly welcoming people.”
They also discusses the positive business and investment climate in the UAE.
“There is no better country to invest in than the UAE,” Al Habtoor said. “We welcome investors here with open arms, and give strong incentives to attract quality people here.”
Al Habtoor owns two luxury, five-star hotels in Hungary; The InterContinental Hotel Budapest and The Ritz-Carlton Budapest.
Al Habtoor raised the issue of immigration on departure from Budapest. He said authorities must relax stringent departure policies to attract more visitors to the country.
HE Naffa, a Jordian-born former businessman took over from former Hungarian Ambassador to the UAE, His Excellency Zoltán Jancsi, late last year. HE Naffa previously worked as the director responsible for Hungary’s relations with the Arab world at the Hungarian National Trading House Co. Ltd, an entity that was formed with the aim to explore new markets and new business opportunities for Hungarian enterprises.
