Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation hosts ‘Nobel Prizes Series Dubai 2016’

Dubai - MENA Herald: Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation (MBRF) – a member of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives – has announced that it will host the ‘Nobel Prizes Series Dubai 2016’ on March 20 and 21, 2016, at Al Maha Ballroom in Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights Hotel.
The event will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation (MBRF), to stimulate innovation and creative thinking among all segments of the community through direct interaction with the creators and innovators.
Nobel Prizes Series Dubai 2016 will be hosted as part of the Nobel Museum Exhibition 2016 currently on in Dubai. It will host three Nobel Prize winners in the fields of chemistry and physics to highlight their experiences in the field of science and innovation. The event will also be participated by a group of specialists and officials from the areas of education and innovation in UAE as well as college students who will get the opportunity to meet with the Nobel Laureates.
His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, Managing Director of MBRF, said the Nobel Prizes Series Dubai 2016 seeks to provide a platform to bring together Nobel Laureates and local experts and scholars from the field of science to enable the community to benefit from the event. The event will include lectures, workshops and interactive sessions to discuss the achievements of Nobel Prize winners.
HE Bin Huwaireb explained that the unique event will spark the interest of youth in the areas of Nobel Prize achievements in science, literature and peace, and inspire them to contribute to the development of the community. He said members of the public will be offered the opportunity to interact with the Nobel Prize winners on the second day of the event.
Nobel Prizes Series Dubai 2016 will feature three world-class professors who have contributed to the significant advancements in the field of science - Martin Chalfie, co-winner of the 2008 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his introduction of Green Fluorescent Protein as a biological marker; George Smoot, co-winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2006 for discovering the blackbody form and anisotropy of cosmic microwave background radiation, and Kurt Wüthrich, Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry in 2002.
MBRF is hosting the Nobel Museum Exhibition in Dubai for the second consecutive year. This year the exhibition is taking place at Children's City in Dubai Creek Park under the theme ‘Explore Life: The Nobel Prize in Medicine’, from February 21 to 21 March. The exhibition has been witnessing a large turnout of visitors, especially from professionals, academics and students of schools and universities. Focused on the field of medicine for the first time, the Nobel Museum Exhibition also included a series of specialized medical workshops led by specialists from the Nobel Foundation.
