Doha - MENA Herald: The event “Connecting the Dots – East to West” brought Janina Kugel, head of Human Resources and Chief Diversity Officer at Siemens AG - together with Sharoq Al-Malki, Executive Managing Director of Commercial Bank Qatar and a distinguished HR practitioner in the Middle East. Their speeches at the “How Women Work” (HWW) Fringe Event focused on outlining parallels between cultures in enabling diversity in the workplace through their own unique journeys.

"Across the world, Siemens has been working hard to get more women into the organization. Gender equality has positive implications for social and economic development and we have a long-term responsibility to increase the share of women in our global workforce,” said Kugel.

Siemens WLL Qatar focuses on diversity through a range of initiatives from graduate recruitment, collaboration with universities, as well as a focus on increasing the company’s nationality mix and reaching a target of a female workforce of 20 percent by 2020 – effectively doubling the current rate.
