Dubai - MENA Herald: ENOC Lubricants and Grease Manufacturing Plant (ELOMP), part of the Marketing business segment of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), has achieved three global certifications in quality, health and safety, further reiterating its leadership within the regional lubes industry.
ELOMP’s Jebel Ali facility has achieved the ISO 9001:2008 for Quality Management System, the ISO 14001:2004 for Environmental Management system and OHSAS 18001:2007 for Occupational Health & Safety Management System, all internationally recognised standardised certifications which translate into the highest level of products and services for its customers.
H.E. Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO, ENOC, said: “With an annual blending capacity of 300,000 metric tonnes per annum at both the Jebel Ali and Fujairah plants, ELOMP serves customers across the automotive, marine transport and industrial sectors; and because of our extensive, cosmopolitan consumer base, it is essential that we ensure that our products adhere to the highest standards.
“Achieving these certifications proves that ENOC’s products and operations observe global benchmarks in quality, health and safety.”
The accreditations were presented to ENOC by DNV GL, an international certification body and classification society with the main expertise in technical assessment, advisory, and risk management. These certifications highlight ELOMP Jebel Ali’s facility as a key facet for ENOC’s leadership in the lubricants industry, after the commissioning of the main plant in Fujairah.
“Over the last six months, ELOMP has undergone a rigorous audit in every facet of its operations, to ensure that all stakeholders - be it management, employees, customers and the environment- are aligned with the facility’s strategy,” said Zaid Alqufaidi, Managing Director, ENOC Marketing. “These certifications demonstrate our commitment to excellence; build on our achievements in ELOMP Fujairah, and help us achieve a high degree of product differentiation.”
Mohammed Sadek, Director of ENOC Lubricants Marketing, said: “We at ENOC Lubricants have achieved significant market presence by providing innovative and premium lubrication solutions, which are tailored to enhance the efficiency of motor vehicles, and improve their durability and performance. Through our integrated approach to blending, analysis and filling, ELOMP manufactures a wide range of lubricants independently and caters to the needs of clients from over 60 countries in the Middle East region, Africa, South East Asia and the Indian Subcontinent.”

ELOMP in Jebel Ali has a dedicated 5,000 square metre manufacturing facility located within the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA). The facility is capable of expanding its capacity to 25,000 metric tonnes to 50,000 metric tonnes, through operational efficiencies.

Assessments occurred across ELOMP operations over a period of six months, and included:
ISO 9001:2008 - Quality Management System (QMS) is a standard that sets coordinated activities to direct and control ELOMP’s management system to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of its performance.
ISO 14001:2004 EMS Environmental Management System (EMS) will initiate an effective environmental management system in ELOMP that will reduce the facility’s environmental impact; provide a framework for social corporate responsibility as well as a legal structure for regulatory requirements (enforced by both JAFZA and Trakhees).
OHSAS 18001:2007 is an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OH&SMS) that will provide a framework to identify and control health and safety risks, reduce the potential for accidents, comply with legislation and improve operational performance. It will provide appropriate measures and controls to manage risks associated with ELOMP’s activities to improve operational performance through better accident management and reduced downtime.
