Dubai - MENA Herald: Codemotion, one of Europe’s largest tech conferences devoted to developing an ecosystem of innovation in coding, proved to be an instant success in its first Middle East edition, which concluded its two-day conference in Dubai on 2nd April, attracting over 340 of the region’s top coding specialists to discuss latest trends and advances in the field.

In addition to a packed and informative programme of seminars and workshops, Codemotion Dubai has now provided the region with its first dedicated platform for pioneering developers to meet and network with likeminded professionals and global specialists.

Codemotion has already become a regular feature on the tech conference calendar in seven countries including the UK, Italy, Spain, Germany, Poland, Ireland, and the Netherlands, with the UAE making up the eighth and newest location. Codemotion also runs 11 scheduled conferences operating across the EMEA region.

Held at The Impact Hub in Downtown Dubai, Codemotion Dubai’s Regional Partner, Mohamad Harastani, officially opened the two-day conference which offered up a series of presentations, talks, and workshops, hosted by globally renowned coding experts, including: Bert Ertman (Luminis), Danilo Poccia (Amazon Web Services), Yan Cui (Just Eat), Alex Nadalin (Namshi), and Rachel Reese (jet.com).

Topics discussed on the first day included Reece’s presentation on, “Patterns and practices for real-world event-driven microservices” and Yan Cui’s “F# in social gaming”. On day two, Poccia gave a talk entitled, “Scaling up to your first 10 million users”.

“With Codemotion already a huge success in several locations across the globe, we are extremely pleased with the reception we have received in bringing the event to Dubai – both in terms of the quality of speakers and the numbers from the regional coding and developer community who attended,” said Mohamad Harastani.

“I think we can be certain that we have found yet another international location where Codemotion will continue to thrive and we look forward to planning for next year’s event,” Harastani added.

Codemotion Dubai’s event partners were Dubai Internet City, Google Developer Group Dubai, Wamda, and Impact Hub.
