Dubai - MENA Herald: In line with Dubai’s Smart City initiative recommended by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and as part of its commitment to the National Charter for Happiness and Positivity which is dedicated to creating an appropriate environment for the happiness of an individual, family and community, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry launched Human Capital Management (HCM) smart app recently. Launched as part of the Chamber’s innovation strategy which is to support creativity and innovation in the private sector, the new smart app is aimed at providing Human Resources services to employees quickly at the click of a button from their hand-held devices. The Human Capital Management smart app allows employees to apply for HR services including submission of leave request, salary certificate, to check leave balance and other HR services as well as to track the status of the requests from their mobile phones by connecting to the organisation’s Fusion system and other technical support services from the IT department. Essa Al Zaabi, Senior Vice-President, Institutional Support Sector, Dubai Chamber, stated that the launch of such smart apps reflect on the Chamber’s commitment to support the smart business initiative and is aimed at keeping pace with the emirate’s march towards sustainable development. This latest smart app will support the HR department to offer innovative services to its staff members. He said: “This concept is in line with the Government’s directives to serve the people in the best possible way and make them happy. Therefore, Dubai Chamber launched this smart app to facilitate the human resources department to offer convenient services anytime and from anywhere through a hand-held device like a mobile phone which is faster and quicker than the traditional way of applying through email etc.” This new launch follows Dubai Chamber’s earlier Smart Business application, the E-COO for issuing Electronic Certificates of Origin, Africa Gateway Smart Application, and Smart Mediation application, as part of its efforts to build a fully-integrated mobile community and to help members do business with ease as well as to promote the concept of smart business amongst the business community in line with Dubai’s vision to transform the emirate into a smart city.
