Dubai - MENA Herald: At the third and final day of the Arabian Hotel Investment Conference (AHIC) the patron, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Airports, President of Dubai Department for Civil Aviation and Chairman and Group CEO of Emirates presented two special awards to tourism and hospitality leaders.
AHIC 2016 Outstanding Service to the Industry Award
Ron Hilvert, is the founder and former Managing Director, The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management (EAHM). He is recognised as one of the world’s most experienced Human Resource Executives who was developed EAHM since its founding almost 15 years ago. Under his leadership the academy has gone from strength to strength and it is now one of the most globally renowned and respected institutions in hospitality.
“We are extremely pleased to be able to award Ron Hilvert with our Outstanding Service to the Industry as through the EAHM, he has been dedicated to the development and nurturing of young people into our industry, without which, tourism and hospitality would not be as strong or robust. His creation provides a source of highly trained staff who will be the leaders of the future,” commented Jonathan Worsley, Chairman of Bench Events and co-founder of AHIC.
AHIC 2016 Leadership Award
Ahmed Ramdan, is Group Chief Executive Officer, Rὀya International, a company which is one of the most recognised hospitality advisory firms in the GCC. Ramdan selected a career path shortly after the UAE had been formed and embarked on a career which would truly make an impact on the regions tourism and hospitality sector. He spent many years in the upper levels of international hotel management before forming Rὀya International.
“Our leadership award is given only to those who have shown a complete dedication to progressing the tourism and hospitality sector and Ahmed Ramdan has devoted his entire career to our industry. This award marks his continued leadership and focus on ensuring we lead the way in terms of industry standards,” said Jonathan Worsley, Chairman of Bench Events and co-founder of AHIC.
