Dubai – MENA Herald: CFA Society Emirates held a seminar on the 10th and 11th of May titled ‘Trade like a Global Macro Hedge Fund’ as part of their ongoing education and awareness initiative for its members, charterholders and investment professionals on significant industry developments. The seminar focused on global macro hedge fund trading styles and how to apply a fundamental bottom-up process with top-down macro analysis to better identify investment opportunities in today’s market.
Maleeha Bengali, Founder of MB Commodity Corner provided an in-depth insight on this subject, stating: “Value investing alone is not sufficient to achieve alpha in today’s market, as it is too easy to fall into destructive value traps. Intelligent investing begins with an understanding of the current economic environment and market cycles. Then by focusing on the fundamental relative value together with earnings momentum, investors can earn superior risk adjusted returns.”
The seminar took place at the Abu Dhabi Global Market as well as the Ritz-Carlton, DIFC, in Dubai, addressing over 50 investment professionals.
