Dubai - MENA Herald: GE (NYSE: GE) continues its commitment to energy sustainability in the region through its partnership with AW Rostamani Group, the UAE’s Nissan car distributor, to light up the new Nissan flagship showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road with aesthetic and energy-efficient lighting solutions designed by Current, powered by GE.

The enhancements to the showroom reflect the trend wherein retailers are enhancing their in-store experience in response to the growth in online shopping. By providing theater-showrooms that offer the immersive, interactive experience, customers can gain unmatched insights of the vehicles displayed.

Lighting plays an important role in delivering the ultimate automobile-showroom experience. Getting the light right is of particular value, as the vehicle’s color makes a big difference to buyers. However, as energy becomes an increasingly important priority for Dubai and the region, car showrooms must pay special attention to their impact to the environment, with emphasis on saving electricity, reducing emissions and move towards a stronger sustainable option.

The sense of theatre and sustainable lighting is reflected throughout the new showroom. The atmosphere is dazzling with brightly lit automobiles. Yet, despite the energetic feel of the showroom experience, the GE LED lighting system helps the showroom reduce its power consumption and related carbon footprint by nearly 70 percent. To achieve this, Arabian Automobiles Company partnered with Current, powered by GE, to implement its efficient lighting solutions.

"In line with UAE Vision 2021, Arabian Automobiles Company's commitment to sustainability is driving the ongoing transformation of our showrooms into energy-efficient facilities, an initiative undertaken with full support from GE,” said Salah Yamout, Director of Sales & Marketing at AAC. “The installation of more energy-efficient LED lights helps in reducing costs, is more environmentally friendly and creates an ambience that will provide our customers with a better overall experience when visiting our showrooms."

“We have set a new benchmark for car showrooms in UAE by reducing our power consumption and related carbon footprint by over 70 percent while also improving aesthetics and customer visual experience,” said Umar Khan, Senior General Manager, AW Rostamani Lumina.

Current, powered by GE’s LED solutions are designed for high-quality, stable performance to save energy while requiring less maintenance for longer product life. As a key location for Nissan’s automobile distribution, AW Rostamani Group will provide an enhanced, comfortable viewing experience for its customers with fewer interruptions and lighting outages. The new showroom will serve as the main Nissan location across the UAE.

Erdem Soyal, Project Sales General Manager for GE Middle East, Africa and Turkey (MEAT), of Current, powered by GE, said: “Across the world, leading automotive manufacturers and dealers have long relied on GE for their showrooms, offices and other facilities. The environmentally sustainable LED lighting by Current assures higher aesthetics alongside significant energy savings. Our partnership with AW Rostamani Group highlights the deepening interest by regional leaders in installing our energy-efficient solutions for enhanced light quality and greater energy efficiency.”

GE’s LED lighting solutions can save 40 to 70 percent in energy consumption, and are used successfully in several landmark projects across the Gulf region. These products are free of mercury and lead, which plays a key role in driving environmental sustainability.

The Nissan showroom is just the latest efficient lighting solution by Current, powered by GE, in the region. Other examples include the Grosvenor House in Dubai, and outdoor lighting solutions in countries from Turkey to Morocco. Current is changing the way people think about lighting in commercial, industrial, municipal and residential settings. Today’s lighting solutions not only can support energy conservation efforts, but also can be smart, with technologies that listen, interact, monitor and see.
