Transitioning to 2020: Jumbo Group Gears Up For a Stronger Future

Tuesday 21 June 2016

Dubai - MENA Herald: The Jumbo Group, one of the UAE’s most well established and respected corporates, has engaged specialist business consultancy firm Strategy& (erstwhile Booz & Co, and now a part of PricewaterhouseCoopers) to advise shareholders on a future growth strategy and a new five-year development road map for the company.
The company has decided to engage specialist consultancy support to help the Group to continue on its successful growth path under the umbrella theme of “Transitioning to 2020”.
Commenting on the decision, Jumbo Group Chief Executive Vishesh Bhatia said: “We have built a hugely successful brand and integrated business over the past 40 plus years, but realise that to maintain and grow our leadership position, we have to continue to innovate and refresh our operating model.”
“Our decision to appoint Strategy& as a consulting partner will enable us to review and re-energise Jumbo for the future – ensuring we build on our core business strengths while looking at potential new and synergistic opportunities for growth and business expansion.”
He explained that the consultancy firm has been given a wide ranging brief that will incorporate a review of existing business operations but with an eye firmly on how the business can innovate for the future.
Among the many areas the consultants have been asked to examine include looking at potential new related business lines that could be linked to the environment and Smart Cities initiatives; investment in new and innovative startup companies and using technology even more effectively to streamline operational costs at a Group level.
“The recommendations from the consultants will form the basis of a clearly defined strategic direction for the Jumbo business over the next five years to 2020. These are exciting times for our business, which has constantly grown and evolved over the past four decades, and we are looking forward to an equally successful future,” added Mr. Bhatia.
