Dubai – MENA Herald: Emirates NBD, one of the leading banking groups in the region, is enabling customers in the UAE to make donations to philanthropic causes through its digital and social platforms.
The bank has in place a ‘Donation’ feature on its online and mobile banking platforms and has now created a ‘Like to Donate’ Facebook app that will allow customers to donate money to their preferred causes via their social media account. The initiatives are aimed at encouraging customers to give back to the community in an efficient and convenient way, while also creating a social network of donation.
To donate, customers can click on the Payments tab on Emirates NBD’s online banking site or mobile banking app, where a new option of ‘Donations’ will be accessible under ‘Other Payments.’ Alternatively, customers will also be informed of the ‘Like to Donate’ app through a pop up window when logging in to online/mobile banking. Upon linking their bank accounts with Facebook, customers can view a list of the bank’s trusted partner philanthropic organisations1 and select the amount of donation per organisation starting at AED 15. To donate, customers would need to ‘like’ the post promoting the philanthropic organization to contribute a maximum of AED 300 a day to preferred cause (s), at the click of a button.

Emirates NBD’s digital and social donations initiatives aims to empower customers to give back to the community and make a mark on societal development. Using digital as an enabler, the bank is positive that the convenience and efficiency of the new feature will succeed in generating significantly higher funds for its trusted charitable organisations and raising awareness of relevant issues to a wider audience.
