Dubai - MENA Herald: ENOC Processing Company LLC, a subsidiary of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), has received international recognition for its quality control laboratory, reiterating its capabilities to deliver quality products to its customers.

The ENOC refinery achieved ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17025:2005 certificates for its laboratory quality management systems and its technical competency respectively aligned with international benchmarks for standards in quality assurance and customer service. The certifications were granted by US-based International Accreditation Services.

H.E. Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO, ENOC, said: “With over two decades’ experience in the refining business, EPCL established a reputation of manufacturing world-class products for local and global customers, and is a key facet of ENOC’s ability to deliver on its mandate of securing Dubai’s energy needs. EPCL is focused on technologies that foster efficiency and environmental sustainability, and serves as a stellar example of our commitment to these priorities. The ISO accreditations are a milestone in EPCL’s journey of excellence.”

In addition to being the first accredited oil refinery laboratory in the United Arab Emirates, EPCL Laboratory is also the only accredited facility that can carry out diverse critical tests for petroleum products, especially Jet Fuel and Gasoline.

Mr. Tayyeb Al Mulla, Managing Director, Supply Trade and Processing (STP) at ENOC said: “Petroleum is a key resource for this region, responsible for everything from running our cars, to the electricity in our homes. Leveraging the maximum capabilities of petroleum is a complex and delicate process and such certifications are critical to ensuring that we follow the highest standards of skill and safety.”

The certifications were awarded after a rigorous 3-month process that involved training, the formation of a core lab chemist group; the development of ISO recognised management procedures, and a comprehensive audit of all systems.

Established in 1996, EPCL is an integral part of ENOC’s Supply, Trading & Processing (STP) division, and was set up to operate a petroleum refinery and process gas condensate or light crude for manufacturing products such as naphtha, jet fuel, diesel oil, fuel oil and LPG for local and export needs.

Supply, Trading and Processing is one of ENOC’s five business segments. STP owns, operates and manages a refinery, as well as DUGAS, which is responsible for the production and distribution of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), and also trades in a diversified portfolio of products including petroleum, as well as soft commodities. STP has operations in the United Arab Emirates, Singapore and London.
