Dubai – MENA Herald: The Department of Planning and Development – Trakhees has recorded a notable 6.3% growth in the number of transactions processed in H1 2016, which amounts to 55,086 transactions, as opposed to 51,726 transactions processed in H1 2015.
“Trakhees’s streamlined procedures which cut down the time needed to process a transaction to only few minutes are a major drive behind the increase in the number of transactions. A new bundle of smart services was recently introduced to the public, making the total of Trakhees’s smart services 272 services,” said the Chairman and CEO of DP World and Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem.
Bin Sulayem said that he was content with the performance of Trakhees, recording a 10% growth in gross income for the first half of this year over the 2015’s first half. In H1 2016, as many as 18,574 transactions were processed by Trakhees’s Civil Engineering Department alone, which caters to the construction approvals requirements of the clients & consultants of all projects within the jurisdiction of the development authority. The figure reflects a 3,626-transactions increase over the 14,948 transactions it processed in H1 2015. On the other hand, Trakhees’s Environment, Health and Safety Department processed 29,721 transactions in H1 2016, 1,303 transactions more than the number of transactions it processed in the same period last year. The Commercial Licensing Department in Trakhees issued 3,368 commercial licenses from January to June 2016.
The CEO of Trakhees, Arif Obaid Al Dehail, noted that the Department of Planning and Development strives to provide as much flexibility as it possibly can to help its customers, particularly investors, set up their businesses in a very convenient and fast manner.
“The notable growth in the number of transactions is a result of our commitment to delivering top-quality services to the public,” he said.
