Dubai - MENA Herald: Leading London developer Knight Dragon will showcase exceptional investment opportunities within London’s largest single urban regeneration project at Cityscape Global 2016. Greenwich Peninsula and its latest residential development Upper Riverside are being unveiled to international investors in Dubai for the first time, with opportunities for GCC investors to purchase prime waterfront real estate directly on the River Thames.

With a gross development value of £8.4 billion, Greenwich Peninsula is a fast developing ‘island’ community in East London. Just 2 minutes to Canary Wharf it is a key area of the UK capital in which to invest. The masterplan includes central London’s first major film studio, a design district, seven new residential neighbourhoods with 15,720 new homes, two schools, independent shops, hotels, restaurants, green landscaped squares and parks, a major new transport interchange and a 5km sculptural running trail.

Hong Kong backed developer Knight Dragon comments on their vision for this residential-led project. “It's a huge project and a huge responsibility,” said Sammy Lee, Vice Chairman of Knight Dragon. “Something like this only happens once in a generation in London. We have big plans for the Peninsula and the team, the determination and the financial substance to deliver them.”

“As London’s largest single urban regeneration project, Greenwich Peninsula is of international significance and presents an attractive opportunity for overseas purchasers to invest in one of the most significant ‘new’ areas of London.” said Richard Margree, CEO of Knight Dragon.

“Greenwich Peninsula is a truly unique new destination” said David Godchaux, CEO, Core Savills. “The City of London is continually growing and the number of employees working in Canary Wharf is set to double over the next ten years, further bolstering the weight of an already compelling East London investment story, of which Greenwich Peninsula is a key part.”

“With Knight Dragon’s visionary approach and unrelenting appetite to push the boundaries and deliver something truly groundbreaking, Greenwich Peninsula is an exciting world-class opportunity that will undoubtedly appeal to a global audience.” he continued.

Upper Riverside

Upper Riverside is one of seven new neighborhoods at Greenwich Peninsula and features five prism-shaped, light-filled glass and stone towers with roof gardens cascading to the edge of the River Thames. The stylish modern apartments with river and city views, were designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), the world-renowned architects of international landmarks including Burj Khalifa and the new World Trade Centre in New York.

At Upper Riverside, all residents benefit from membership to the exclusive Upper Riverside Club which offers a wealth of private amenities including a whole floor dedicated to fitness and wellbeing which houses one of London’s highest residential swimming pools, two gyms and a steam room. Also offered as part of the club are private cinemas, co-working lounges, private dining rooms and boardroom designed by Tom Dixon’s Design Research Studio and landscaped roof gardens overlooking the river Thames for BBQs, relaxing and dining.

Greenwich Peninsula offers phenomenal transport connections. Just 2 minutes from Canary Wharf and 14 minutes from London City Airport, residents can use the underground, Thames Clipper river service, or the Emirates Airline cable car. Canary Wharf is a future Crossrail destination and is only one stop from North Greenwich; Bond Street is a mere 17 minutes away. Both stations are on the Jubilee Line which will soon be one of the underground lines to operate 24 hours a day.

World-class collaborators

Since the start of the project, Knight Dragon has been collaborating with world-class creatives from various fields. Internationally renowned architects Allies & Morrison laid out the new masterplan for the entire Peninsula, Tom Dixon OBE and Sir Terence Conran’s Conran & Partners have designed many of the interiors. SOM architects designed Upper Riverside and international artist Conrad Shawcross has turned Greenwich Peninsula’s energy centre into a work of art. Between them they have developed a new approach to urban renewal.

Margree says, “We seek out the best talent who share our belief that big ideas and attention to detail must go hand in hand to deliver brilliant, authentic and enduring concepts.”

The first apartments at Upper Riverside are set to complete by the end of 2018 and are being exhibited by Knight Dragon on the Savills stand at Cityscape Global, World Trade Center, from 6 to 8 September 2016.
