Jeddah - MENA Herald: GE Saudi Arabia today marks the opening of its new office in the City of Jeddah, which puts into practice the company’s focus on promoting collaboration and the exchange of ideas. The state-of-the-art office brings together the different businesses of GE under one roof.

The move to the new office has been planned to coincide with the Saudi National Day celebrations underlining the company’s long-term commitment to the Kingdom through localized investment and value creation. With over 150 employees based in the new office, it will provide a more efficient and cohesive service for GE customers and partners.

Hisham Al-Bahkali, GE’s President & CEO for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, said: “We are pleased to celebrate our new office opening in the City of Jeddah on Saudi National Day weekend. This will enable us to drive the themes of collaboration and the exchange of ideas that define the transformational growth of GE, led by our focus on digital industrial technologies. It will enhance efficiency in serving our customers here in Jeddah and the Kingdom, further building on GE’s long-term presence and partnerships in Saudi Arabia.”

“Across GE, we continue to drive a culture of simplification and collaboration, whereby the skills of cross-functional teams are leveraged to assure better outcomes for our customers. This positive move will enable us to strengthen our operations in the Kingdom to support the goals of the Saudi National Vision 2030.”

On bringing all GE businesses under one roof, Al Bahkali added: “This enables us to integrate the strengths and experience of our teams, and provide our customers with better service and solutions support. The new office will also further energise our goal to double our workforce in the Kingdom to 4,000 by 2020.”

The open-plan office of GE has a total area of 1,560 square meters and is aesthetically designed to ensure the best possible work environment for GE teams and to promote collaborative work. The design also helps maximise natural light, and has dedicated meeting spaces and other features that enhance the quality of the workplace.

GE has over eight decades of partnership in the Kingdom. It has a 2,000 strong workforce, with 50% of its talent in highly skilled engineering and technology roles, and a Saudization rate of 70%. Through its local investments, GE has a supplier base of Saudi SMEs with the goal of increasing that number to 300 by 2020.
