Al Zeyoudi Discusses Scopes of Agricultural and Environmental Cooperation with Chinese Minister of Agriculture

Dubai - MENA Herald: H.E. Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE), met with H.E Han Chang Fu, Minister of Agriculture of the Peoples’ Republic of China at MOCCAE’s headquarters during an official visit of Chinese delegation to the Ministry.
The meeting came as part of the efforts for strengthening bilateral relationships with fast growing world-economies and exchanging knowledge and experience in the field of sustainable development. The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Ministry.
Welcoming the Chinese Minister and his colleagues, Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi indicated that the visionary leadership of the UAE has always been keen to seek the possibility of cooperation with the Peoples’ Republic of China in the fields of agriculture and protection of environment.
The UAE Minister also admired the willingness of the Republic of China to collaborate with the UAE in various areas of sustainable development, especially in the arena of combating climate change in accordance with the goals set by the historic Paris Agreement.
His Excellency also briefed the Chinese Minister on the pioneering green and sustainable initiatives launched by the UAE federal government in the field of agriculture and environment conservation.
“The UAE is one of the top 10 date palm cultivators in the world and date palm cultivation is the one of the main agricultural activities and sources of national revenue. That’s why we are keen on using the most up-to-date technologies and methods to further develop the agriculture sector and strengthen our pioneering position around the world,” Dr. Al Zeyoudi said.
H.E Han Chang Fu praised the overall development of the UAE in all fields and sectors and the astonishing accomplishments of transforming the desert into green landscapes and huge farms.
