DIFC Wills & Probate Registry Partners with Dubai’s largest Tas’heel Service Center for ‘Fast Track’ Will Registrations

Monday 16 January 2017

Dubai – MENA Herald: New arrangements between DIFC Wills & Probate Registry (WPR) and Al Burj Holding LLC (ABH) announced today, are set to include will registration services at Al Twar Tas’heel Center. This new move will provide non-Muslim residents and investors in Dubai a fast track will registration service delivered locally. It will allow customers the ability to complete one of life’s most important admin tasks at the same time as they access other services such as property transfer registrations and company incorporations.

The will registration services will be undertaken in private rooms, called Terminals, within the VIP section at Al Barsha mall and Al Twar Tas’heel Center. The registrations will be carried out by trained staff in accordance with pre-agreed and procedures as set down by the WPR. Registered wills are then sent securely to the WPR for storage and retrieval.

This is the first time the WPR services will be available outside of its office in the DIFC, and is made possible by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the WPR and ABH yesterday.

In line with the Government’s smart Dubai plans, the agreement will facilitate the use of technology to offer a one-stop-shop service. At first this will benefit new homeowners wishing to secure their property assets in tandem with completing the Dubai Land Department (DLD) documentation for their property transaction. At the point of purchase, it will take only one more step to register a will outlining beneficiaries and executors of the property.

Commenting on the partnership, Abdulaziz Al-Shaikh, CEO, Al Burj Holding, said: “At Tas’heel we are constantly evolving to provide our customers with what they need to invest, live, and work in Dubai. The partnership with Wills & Probate Registry is in line with our vision to increase the trust of our users, align with smart government goals, and to enhance the country’s ease of doing business and living.”

Sean Hird, Director, DIFC Wills & Probate Registry said: “This new agreement paves the way for more fast-track options available to non-Muslim residents and investors in Dubai. Since our inception in 2015 we have developed strong working relationships with significant partners such as the DLD to ensure a far smoother process for those involved. The MOU with Al Burj Holding is another significant step forward in broadening and simplifying access to our service.”

He added:
“We were immensely impressed with the commitment of Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Shaikh and his team to provide the highest levels of customer service, a commitment that has been formally recognized by the award of 4 stars by the Government of Dubai. Both Al Barsha mall and Al Twar Tas’heel Center will provide those registering their wills with complete privacy in a dedicated suite of offices with its own reception staff. We look forward to finalising the arrangements for implementation in the coming weeks and working together in supporting all those living in Dubai”.
