The winning team will represent the UAE at the EMEA regional competition final in Chicago, Illinois, USA the week of 11 April 2016 where they will meet other teams from around the world. The successful team will then compete in the Global Final in the same location, Illinois, USA. The teams presented to a panel of judges an equity research report on Aramex followed by a Q&A session led by the judges.
In congratulating the winning team, Amer Khansaheb, President of CFA Society Emirates said: “All of us at the CFA Society Emirates congratulate BITS Pilani and everyone who took part in this year’s competition. While the winning team will be moving on to the next phase of the competition, every student will have benefited from this exceptional opportunity to put their academic studies into an important practical context.”

He added: “As UAE’s financial market continue growing, greater transparency, technical competence and integrity are becoming increasingly important. The annual CFA research challenge is a very positive platform to showcase the financial talent available within the Emirates and to encourage young graduates to consider the CFA program as the qualification of choice. In addition, we would like to express our gratitude to the judges, the industry mentors and coordinators for their time and effort in making the 2015-2016 CFA Institute Research Challenge in the UAE a success.”

The CFA Institute Research Challenge, an educational competition for university students, offers participants the opportunity to assume the role of investment research analysts and subsequently develop and present an equity research report, which was based this year on Aramex. Student teams compete on a global basis with peers from top business schools.
Each team was closely mentored by a professional research analyst and CFA charterholder during the initial research process. After drafting the report and receiving feedback from the designated mentor, each team writes a final research report which is presented to a panel of experts from top financial institutions.
