DEWA concludes summer training for 85 students

Dubai – MENA Herald: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has concluded its summer training programme, which was attended by 85 students from schools and universities in the UAE. The training programme included field visits and training courses where trainees gained insight into DEWA’s administrative, operational, and service fields.

“As part of our corporate social responsibility and commitment to promoting the National Identity and developing the capabilities of Emirati youth, DEWA designs and develops summer training programmes for school and university students according to their study fields and scientific directions. Students are distributed to DEWA’s departments related to their fields of study to enable them to understand practical life and how to work as a team. The training also prepares them for work and serving their country to be active members in its development and in serving society,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

“The training programmes prepare a large number of Emirati young people to fulfil the needs of the technical departments at DEWA. This supports the Government’s Emiratisation policies. The summer training is of Emiratis is part of DEWA’s social responsibility. It contributes significantly to the development of future generations and supports Emiratisation at DEWA,” added Al Tayer.

“We adopt a clear strategy to develop and train UAE Nationals. DEWA focuses on providing its staff with the skills needed to fulfil work requirements. DEWA is one of the leading government organisations in launching various training programmes for Emirati students to complete their studies in all energy fields, both in the UAE and abroad,” added Al Tayer.

“DEWA provides practical training opportunities for school and university students to hone their talents and skills while teaching them about work mechanisms at DEWA. This is essential to identify the students’ scientific and professional orientation in the future,” said Dr Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources at DEWA.
