Dubai - MENA Herald: Leading UAE law firm Baker McKenzie Habib Al Mulla hosted its third BakerWomen Middle East event in Dubai on 28 March 2017, which focused on professional women and male champions in the healthcare sector. The event featured Mina Hamoodi, Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Telemedicine Centre, who shared her experiences as a champion of diversity in this sector, and discussed the impact of digitisation on healthcare services, patients and products in the UAE.
The panel discussion was led by Jayshree Gupta, Partner at Baker McKenzie Habib Al Mulla, who leads the BakerWomen Middle East initiative (part of Baker McKenzie's global diversity program) in the UAE. The interactive discussion centred around gender parity in the sector and the future of telemedicine, with senior representatives from the healthcare, financial institutions and technology sectors sharing and gaining valuable insights among peers.
Jayshree Gupta commented, "This third installment in our BakerWomen Middle East program of events provided an important forum for both male and female executives in the healthcare sector to exchange ideas on practical solutions for gender diversity issues faced by professional women. Alongside the technological revolution of this sector, there needs to be a cultural transformation that will drive change and help push more professional women to the top of the food chain."
Mina Hamoodi, an influencer in the field of e-innovation in the UAE, added, "The digitisation of the UAE's healthcare sector has been the result of innovation and collaboration amongst market participants, and the UAE is today at the forefront of telemedicine in the Middle East. Technology is transforming the way healthcare is delivered and accessed, and a corresponding increasing in opportunities for women in this sector is inevitable. "
