MALDIVES TO INVEST IN FUTURE OF TOURISM AT ARABIAN TRAVEL MARKET 2016

Dubai - MENA Herald: Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation returns this year to Arabian Travel Market 2016 with a focus on increasing its tourism popularity and future plans to invest in the country’s infrastructure.

Middle East remains one of the emerging markets for Maldives with a total share of 3.4%. In the year 2015 a total of 41,976 tourists from Middle East visited Maldives. Compared to arrivals figures in 2014 this is an increase of 12.8%. Looking into arrivals for 2016 a steady growth is observed. In January 2016 an increase of 11.7% was observed and for February 2016, 8.9% increase of arrivals was recorded.

The Maldives is well known for its breath taking vistas, its nature and its enigmatic underwater attractions. The island nation also offers excellent diving spots with an array of outdoor activities such as snorkeling, surfing and fishing.

This year, MMPRC will bring 52 local travel agent, tour operators, DMCs and hotel partners such as PER AQUUM Hotels & Resort Maldives, Sun Siyam Resorts, Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa, Jumeirah Vittaveli and recently opened Amari Havodda at Arabian Travel Market from 25th to 28 April 2016. The Maldives stand is located in Sheikh Saeed Hall 03, Stand Number AS3050. The venue for 22nd Arabian Travel Market is the renowned Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center.
