Dubai - MENA Herald: Oman Tourism is using its presence at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai to showcase a number of exciting “Discover Oman’s Beauty” packages that are being offered to residents of Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Oman is rapidly establishing itself as a year round tourist destination and the summer period in particular can be a perfect time to visit this multi-faceted country that offers a monsoon season and cooling mountain escapes, fun filled water sports experiences for families and an incredible array of cultural and heritage experiences.
The Ministry of Tourism together with its airline partner Oman Air and a number of leading hotels and travel agents has created a series of special packages at highly competitive prices that include tickets and accommodation in various resorts, providing a variety of authentic Arabian adventures and fun filled family activities for visitors from Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Mr Salim Al Mamari, Director General of Tourism Promotion said: “We have created a series of special packages that are perfectly tailored for the requirements and demands of families and individual travellers from Saudi Arabia and the UAE which remain our most important regional markets. These wide ranging packages are designed to highlight the beauty of Oman, its natural environment as well as its cultural heritage and showcase the Sultanate’s wide variety of experiences for visitors that make it a year round destination.
“Oman attracted over one million visitors from the GCC in 2015 with the biggest number arriving from Saudi Arabia and the UAE we hope to increase this number by our participation at the Arabian Travel Market.”
He explained that the new range of packages offers an enormous variety of experiences for families, romantic honeymooners, and adventure seekers at destinations varying from Oman’s unspoiled coastline to the dramatic Hajar Mountains.
The summer packages will give visitors the opportunity to experience everything from dolphin watching in Muscat to watching turtles hatching and laying their eggs in Ras Al Jinz near Sur. The packages also include mountain trips to Al Jabal Al Akhdar and Jabal Shams for hiking, exploring and abseiling, and cultural experiences at the Royal Opera House in Muscat.
These packages were recently introduced to the market through a series of successful workshops conducted in Jeddah, Riyadh and Eastern Province in Saudi Arabia, and in Dubai. They have received a very positive response from travel agents in both countries and Oman is anticipating a summer boost in visitor numbers as a result.
The “Discover Oman’s Beauty” campaign also includes accommodation for 5 nights at a selection of luxury hotels. The packages are designed to give families from Saudi Arabia and the UAE a very broad range of choice for a summer getaway.
