AXIS ACQUIRES COGNIMATICS AND 2N TO STRENGTHEN RETAIL OFFERING AND IP INTERCOM SERVICES GLOBALLY

Dubai – MENA Herald : Axis Communications, the global leader in network video, today announced the acquisition of Cognimatics, a leading company of store optimization solutions targeting the retail sector, and 2N, the number one company in IP Intercom. The addition of these two leading companies further strengthens Axis’ portfolio globally.

COGNIMATICS ACQUISITION
The addition of Cognimatics’ knowledge and technology strengthens Axis’ solution offering in the fast-growing retail market segment. Cognimatics’ technology is for example used for people counting, queue measurement and occupancy estimation. The Proven analytics technology to optimize real-time customer behavior strengthens Axis Communications offering within store optimization on a fast-growing market.

2N ACQUISITION
2N is the number one player in the field of IP intercom, and also operates in other areas, for example IP audio and IP lift intercom. The company has well-established sales channels through electricians and telecom installers as well as lift manufacturers, which can serve as a complement to Axis present global sales channels. At the same time 2N will benefit from Axis’ strong market positon and R&D resources.

Together with 2N we can meet that demand,” says Peter Lindström, Vice President New Business at Axis Communications.

The 2N brand will remain, and the company will operate as a subsidiary within the Axis group. The joint operations will concern knowledge sharing and assisting each other in R&D and market access. An important joint task is to accelerate the convergence from analog systems towards IP intercom and develop new opportunities.
