Dubai - MENA Herald: Bentley Institute Press, publisher of university textbooks and professional reference works for the BIM advancement of the architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC), operations, geospatial, and educational communities, today announced that Practical Structural Modelling With AECOsim Building Designer is now available as an e-book for Kindle devices. The publication provides step-by-step tutorials and interactive exercises to help engineers and designers quickly become productive with BIM workflows and BIM advancement enabled by AECOsim Building Designer, Bentley Systems’ software for the architectural design and multi-discipline engineering of facilities. The book is co-authored by Evolve Consultancy Directors Nigel Davies and Daniel Heselwood, highly qualified AEC professionals who together have more than 40 years of experience developing and delivering BIM courses and training workshops.

Practical Structural Modelling With AECOsim Building Designer is written for all experience levels, from beginners seeking clear explanations of AECOsim Building Designer’s functionality to experts requiring insight into the best methods of managing digital production and BIM advancement on a project. The detailed exercises in the book follow a typical project workflow, approaching each task as it would be handled in a real-world project, with associated exercises based on an actual building. Each chapter is also designed to serve as a stand-alone reference guide for more experienced users.

Said Heselwood, “Our goal with the book is to help engineers become productive with the principles of BIM workflows in a short period of time. The methods, tools, and best practices we discuss are all based on a real-world building project that was designed and built using these same techniques.”

Davies added, “The book reflects our unique approach to teaching, which we call ‘reinforced contextual learning.’ We present the information in the context of the real-world challenges that engineers are likely to encounter in their work. We believe this real-world context is critical and better enables the reader to incorporate the information into their personal frame of reference and typical project scenarios.”

Like all of the titles in the Bentley Institute Press portfolio, Practical Structural Modelling With AECOsim Building Designer aims to deliver continuous learning to help both students and practitioners in infrastructure professions increase their technical know-how and improve their workflow efficiencies.
