Dubai – MENA Herald: THE BEACH, the upbeat outdoor destination by Meraas, is set to unleash an adrenaline-packed extended weekend for Dubai’s youth with an exciting line-up of skateboarders, BMX and MTB jump riders, parkour performers and Bboys at its hip ‘Urban Beats at THE BEACH by Vans’ gig that combines music, art and extreme sports.
The three-day event that will run from Thursday, 31 March to Saturday, 2 April 2016, at the North Lawn Amphitheatre of THE BEACH showcases a line-up of leading international dare-devils, including BMX rider James Jones and Parkour performer (free-runner) Luke Madigan, MTB rider Daryl Brown and Trials rider Ben Savage, Lewis Williams – who performs stunts on a scooter and the pro VANS sponsored skateboarder Ross McGouran.
Adding verve to the event’s signature street-style will be Dubai-based ‘lettering’ graffiti artist Sya One. MCs James Thorne and Big Hass will step-up the momentum and bring the spectacle to life. Furthermore, Dubai based DJ and producer Lobito Brigante will mix and match music sets to complement the event’s funky, hip-hop vibe.
On 1-2 April 2015, from 4.30pm to 7.30pm, Bboy Ereson ‘Mouse’ Catipon and football freestyler Lukasz Chwieduk will serve as judges at the event’s competition arena where Dubai’s up-and-coming amateur local break-dancers and freestyle footballers compete to reign supreme on one of the region’s most credible platforms for extreme sports.
Competition winners will be rewarded with the latest tech gear from Samsung, with prizes including Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge for the winner, Samsung Tab S2 for the runner-up and the Samsung Galaxy A7 for the second runner-up
Urban Beats at THE BEACH by Vans will be hosted in partnership with Vans, the original action sports footwear, apparel and accessories brand that celebrates its 50th Anniversary this month. The Vans brand promotes an action sports lifestyle, youth culture and creative self-expression with the support of athletes, musicians and artists and through partnering with progressive events and platforms.
