Dubai - MENA Herald: Majid Al Futtaim’s City Centre Me’aisem and City Centre Al Shindagha are hosting a thrilling virtual reality game as part of Majid Al Futtaim’s schedule of first time experiences and great moments during Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS).

‘Bridge of Surprises’ invites mall shoppers to immerse themselves in a simulated world to win instant prizes from participating stores. Using state of the art technology, ‘Bridge of Surprises’ challenges players to cross a rope bridge stretched between two balloons flying over Dubai in virtual reality while walking across an actual rope bridge in real life. As the game progresses players have to catch as many logos of participating stores in bubbles falling from the sky using the hand controller. Once the player manages to collect 50 logos within 90 seconds, they are rewarded with instant prizes from the retailers, such as MAX, Jamba Juice, Centre point, GRK Fresh Greek, Chili’s, Dunkin Donuts, McDonald’s, OPTX20/20, Magic Planet, Arrow, Chicking and Automatic.

Enhancing the real life experience, the rope bridge is slightly elevated creating a feeling of unbalance, while fans generate a breeze. Players who dare can look down upon the city’s skyscrapers to experience being hundreds of metres above the ground.

Bridge of Surprises has been created using a HTC Vive headset developed by HTC and Valve Corporation, released on 5 April 2016. The headset is designed to utilize "room scale" technology to turn a room into 3D space via sensors, with the virtual world allowing the user to navigate naturally, with the ability to walk around and use motion tracked handheld controllers to vividly manipulate objects, interact with precision, communicate and experience immersive environments.

Visitors are invited to experience ‘Bridge of Surprises’ on weekdays from 12pm– 10pm and weekends from 12pm – 12am from July 26 – August 7, 2016.
