Dubai - MENA Herald: Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) has announced its collaboration with the Dubai AC Milan Junior Camp Football Academy. Children of different ages, -both boys and girls-sponsored by AMAF Minors Foundation attended two separate sessions with the celebrated football team’s training camp in Dubai from December 24 – 30, 2015.

The Dubai AC Milan Junior Camp is the official soccer program run by Italian football giants AC Milan. Organized in association with GEMS Education and B&F Partners, the initiative is part of AMAF’s continuing commitment to provide excellent quality of life education and care for the nearly 2,400 children under their care.

The AC Milan Junior Camp is the first stepping stone in a follow-up soccer program for young talent in the sport and aids their development as athletes and individuals. Through participating at the Camp, the children will gain access to AC Milan’s experienced coaching staff and state-of-the-art facilities.

Upon their completion of the camp, young ‘graduates’ will be provided with the official AC Milan Junior Camp certificates. In addition, the best players could be invited to attend the Milan Junior Camp Day in 2016 held annually in Milan. The event will see selected children from various Milan Junior Camps worldwide play together in a challenging and stimulating tournament.

Speaking about the initiative, His Excellency Tayeb Al Rais, Secretary General of AMAF, said: “We thank the Dubai AC Milan Junior Camp for providing our children with an incredible opportunity. We are positive that the camp will teach strong values in teamwork, perseverance, respect and friendship. Apart from being a great source of entertainment for our kids, the initiative also provides the chance of a lifetime for young and talented players to learn from the best in the international soccer field.”

About the Dubai Family Village

Launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, AMAF’s Dubai Family Village is a state of the art, purpose built facility designed to care for orphans in a warm and loving family community atmosphere.

The Village includes 16 residential villas and other allied buildings that provide total care for the education and welfare of the children.  Comprehensive ancillary services are part of the complex including administration, clinics, infant care and medical facilities for emergencies. The Village has a fully equipped nursery, kindergarten, library and study area as well as playgrounds and vegetable gardens tended by the children in an integrated recreational area.

Through this enabling project, AMAF provides a real home for orphans and a balanced atmosphere with full-time mothers who are the heart of each bonded family unit. Every home is a unit of ‘siblings’ and a ‘mother’ equipped with all necessary amenities. Additionally, ‘aunts’ or helpers are a part of the children's daily lives as is a ‘grandmother’ to oversee the day-to-day running of the Village.
