wasl Announces Grand Prize Winner of its Annual Ramadan Arts Competition

Dubai - MENA Herald: A talented young artist has received AED 25,000 to put towards her education thanks to wasl properties. Dubai’s leading real estate organisation has revealed the overall winner of its Ramadan Painting Competition, with 12 year old Ramsha Mohammed Waseem announced as the recipient of the top prize.
wasl's Ramadan Painting Competition is an annual contest the company organises for its young tenants. Ramsha, a resident at one of wasl’s Building, scooped the grand prize by impressing both the judges and the public voters with her beautiful composition of the spirit of the Holy Month. Her entry was judged as the best of the bunch from four weekly winners of the competition, who were each awarded with an iPad.
The winner of the first week of wasl’s Ramadan Children’s Painting Competition is Ziya Riyaz, whereas Zobiya Mohammed Javed Ansari was awarded in the following week. The two other winners were Ramsha Mohammed Waseem and Josiah Urise Ordonez Erum, who each scooped a brand new iPad in the 3rd and 4th weeks of Ramadan respectively.
“We were delighted to award Ramsha with AED 25,000 that will go towards her education fees, allowing her to further grow and develop her budding artistic skills. As with previous years, we received a very high standard of entries for our Ramadan Painting Competition. However, Ramsha’s work stood out as truly distinct across four weeks of the contest and she richly deserves the win. We sincerely wish her well in her future studies.” said Zainab Mohamed, Chief Property Management & Marketing Officer.
wasl's Ramadan Painting Competition is open every year to tenants up to 13 years of age, with entrants encouraged to paint and draw what they feel represents the spirit of the Holy Month. They then upload their completed work to the competition’s website and the submissions are voted on by the site’s visitors and a panel of wasl judges. The contest ran in parallel with a Ramadan Instagram Photography Competition for wasl tenants over the age of 13 years. Weekly winners from wasl’s competition for older residents received an Apple TV, with four sets given away over the course of the competition.
