GCC’s Change Initiative Program ‘New Beginnings’ Concludes to Economically Empower women

Jeddah - MENA Herald: Ten women from Saudi Arabia have been awarded with empowerment opportunities in line with the recently concluded change initiative campaign titled ‘New Beginnings’ led by Persil Abaya Shampoo from Henkel. The campaign held in line with the holy month of Ramadan and in collaboration with the Kingdom’s Al Bir Society honoured the women beneficiaries with a total amount of SAR 200,000 to support their skill and trade based development projects.

The ceremony was held in the honourable presence of Mr. Mazen Batterjee, Chairman of Board at Albir Society Jeddah, the beneficiary productive families, media, winners, special guests, senior representation from Al Bir Society and KSA Sales Director, Sami Qahar, representing Henkel. The campaign, inspired by the talent, ambition and dedication of Arab women, aims to empower women while supporting their goals and crafting their path for improved financial stability and an enlightened future. Held for the second year in a row and founded on the need for community advancement, the initiative provides Arab women in the GCC a chance to actuate and/or grow their aspirations in support of their families and the community at large.

Awarding them through this change initiative ‘New Beginnings’ is our way of celebrating their potential while also supporting projects in their respective fields. It gives us the opportunity to honour this eminent sect of our societies, celebrate womanhood and pay tribute to the indomitable spirit of women”, said Esther Lopez, GCC Marketing Director Henkel Laundry & Home Care GCC. “We would like to extend our gratitude to Albir Society for their platform and the tremendous support they have provided in allowing us to make a positive difference in the societies that we live and work.”

In light of this event, Mr. Mazen Batterjee expressed his appreciation to Henkel for this generous initiative and highlighted the continuous efforts undertaken by Albir Jeddah to build strategic partnerships with governmental and private entities aimed at promoting community development. Batterjee concluded by laying emphasis on the combined efforts of non-profit organizations in the country. For their unwavering support of these initiatives, he expressed his sincere gratitude to the leadership of the Kingdom and the various ministries for overseeing such initiatives.
