The Ministry of Economy and local Free Zones discuss enhanced trade and investment for better businesses environment

Abu Dhabi - MENA Herald: The UAE Ministry of Economy recently met with several Free Zones at its headquarter in Abu Dhabi to strengthen strategic partnerships and mutual cooperation. The participants exchanged views on foreign events and participations to ensure unified efforts towards maximizing the country’s international exposure.

The meeting was organized by the Ministry’s Trade Promotion and Investment Department and was attended by senior representatives from several UAE’s free zones such as Abu Dhabi Global Market, Abu Dhabi Media Zone Authority – Twofour54, Masdar City, Dubai Airport Free Zone, Dubai International Financial Center Authority, Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority, Dubai Maritime City, Dubai Creative Clusters Authority, Dubai South City, Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, and Ajman Free Zone.

Mohammed Nasser Al Zaabi, Director of Trade Promotion and Investment Department, said that the assembly forms part of a series of ongoing periodic meetings being organized by the department with its strategic partners from the public and private sectors. He explained that the gatherings are intended to raise the level of coordination, review the promotion management plan, and share ideas on areas of future cooperation in foreign events and participations.

Al Zaabi emphasized that the free zones represent some of the Ministry’s most important strategic partners, as they are major economic contributors to the state. He pointed out that many of the country’s free zones are regarded as among the best in the world by international reports due to their high efficiency and global economic and investment impact.
