Dubai – MENA Herald: Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation (MBRF) signed an agreement with LinkedIn to increase cooperation between the two parties and launch a number of joint, knowledge-focused initiatives in the Arab region.
The agreement was signed during a press conference held by MBRF – part of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum global initiatives – yesterday at the Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights hotel in Dubai.
A first key part of the agreement was the launching of the “Arab Professionals Forum” initiative on LinkedIn, which will gather top Arab subject-matter experts, academics and scientists from all over the world, and serve as a platform where experts can communicate directly with Arab talent from the region and the world. The Forum is set to constitute a place for the most qualified Arab talents to meet with international and regional organisations seeking to share knowledge in how Arabs can build their skillsets to reach the very highest levels of capability in their careers and professional lives.
His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, Managing Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, said: “The Foundation is keen to enter into alliances and agreements with government and private institutions in the UAE and internationally, in an effort to exchange experiences and effectively contribute to building knowledge-based societies, as well as to reach out to Arab innovators and professionals everywhere.”
H.E. went on to explain that MBRF’s cooperation with LinkedIn will yield positive results given the latter’s wide global reach and its nature as a specialised platform gathering professionals and experts in all sectors and from all over the world. LinkedIn has built close ties with key government and private institutions such as MBRF to enhance the ability of employers to select the best from available talent, and for candidates to be aware of career opportunities. The Foundation’s role, meanwhile, is to set the criteria upon which members of the Forum will be selected.
Nonetheless, the Arab Professionals Forum aims for much more than jobs and careers. The Forum will help all Arabs make use of their talents in the workplace and beyond. Forum members will share their knowledge and experience to encourage others to develop their capability and make the most of life chances.
“LinkedIn has extensive experience in connecting professionals and international institutions in one platform,” H.E. bin Huwaireb added. “It enables top Arab experts and professionals to keep up with the latest available business and educational developments in the region and the world.”
On a similar note, Ali Matar, Head of LinkedIn Talent Solutions for Southern Europe, Middle East, North Africa and Growth Markets, said: “We, at LinkedIn, are honoured to be collaborating with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation on the ‘Arab Professionals Forum’. The initiative resonates very well with LinkedIn’s commitment to provide the best solutions and opportunities for our members in the Arab region.”
“To that end, we launched in 2015 LinkedIn Arabic to enable users in the regions to fully benefit from everything the platform has to offer,” Matar added. “We are certain that this initiative will further expand the horizons for professionals seeking to benefit from our services to advance their careers.”
Soon, the Arab Professionals Forum will be joined by other initiatives from MBRF and LinkedIn, forming a comprehensive series of facilities to develop the expertise and capabilities of the Human Capital of the Arab people. In the future, it is planned that this concept becomes a Global Forum promoting Talent in all societies.
The “Arab Professionals Forum” uses LinkedIn’s reach to bring together top Arab subject-matter experts from both public and private institutions, as well as academics, teachers, and researchers. LinkedIn is the world’s largest and widest network of professional communication with a membership of 450 million.
