Dubai - MENA Herald : By 2020, Generation Z will make up 40 percent of the world's population. Governments around the world will have to prioritize their agendas on this dominant demographic. This presents a tremendous opportunity for governments to apply new operating models that effectively tap into a more modern, collaborative, technologically savvy generation.
The comments were made by Thomas Koulopoulos, President and Founder, Delphi Group, on the first day of the World Government Summit (WGS 2017) that kicked off today in Dubai.
Speaking on the theme 'GEN-Z: They Are Coming, and They Are Disruptive', Koulopoulos, who has also written a best-selling book titled ‘The Gen Z Effect’, said: "Gen Z'ers, who are typically identified as individuals born from the mid-1990s to early 2000s, have now entered their early twenties. They are more able to make a change and forge a new path.”
Koulopolos spoke about Gen-Z’s natural inclination to act as more collaborative, less individualistic citizens. “The Nobel Prize in the next 50 years will be exclusively awarded to teams, not individuals,” he shared.
Koulopoulos went on to describe the dominant traits of Gen Z'ers as young people who are tech-savvy, multicultural, highly global in their outlook, and committed to social causes. “Gen Z is the first truly global generation. These new behaviors are cross cultural. We can take pride and celebrate our heritage and yet act as global citizens.”
Acknowledged as one of the world's leading futurists, Thomas Koulopoulos is the author of 10 books and founder of Delphi Group, a 20-year-old Boston-based think tank that was named one of the fastest growing private companies in the US by Inc.
